Everybody has problems. But Travis? Yeah, he has so many problems that he finds it hard to breathe sometimes.
He spends five years catering to his ex-wife’s every want and need—all to make it possible to continue to see his child.
He isn’t supposed to fall in love with a woman, but he does.
He isn’t supposed to find someone that is willing to put up with his ex-wife’s crazy antics, but he has.
He isn’t supposed to be happy, but he is.
And all it takes is his ex-wife finding out about his new-found peace for things to change.
***
Hannah saw him and knew he was the one.
All it took was one look into that haunted man’s eyes, and she was lost, never to be found again.
She thinks she has it all. His love, a new baby made with that love, and a house to raise their blended family.
She’s wrong, and Travis’ ex-wife is out to prove it.
***
Travis doesn’t deserve Hannah. All he’s done is hurt her.
She’s done everything in her power to keep everyone happy, but the more she tries, the harder his ex-wife pushes. Until one day, there’s nothing left to push.
Hannah leaves, and Allegra wins.
But Travis isn’t willing to let her have her way any longer.
He fights back, and only gets a bullet to the chest to show for it.
MY REVIEW:
To say that Travis Hail has it rough is like saying Hell itself is a little warm. The man is in a "Hail" of his own. He literally has the spawn of Satan as an ex-wife, and a daughter that has decided she wants to apparently be just like her mother. The only bright spot in his life, comes in the form of his once-lover, now mother of his second child, and roommate- Hannah.
Hannah is the breath of fresh air that Travis has been trying to breath for years. Just unlucky for him, she comes along at the most inopportune time. She gets into the sights of his ex, which makes Travis's life even more complicated, and makes Allegra (the ex) decide to turn his little girl against him even more. Because, even if Allegra doesn't want Travis, she damn sure doesn't want anyone else to have him either.
However, Travis and Hannah have a spark, a connection that cannot be denied, and they fall hard. The next thing you know- their new little bundle of joy, Travis Junior, comes along, and life gets even more complicated for the two. They have to continue to fight the pull they have, while trying to raise their boy together, but just like it always does- love wins.
This time, it wins big. Travis finally mans up and takes what he's always wanted. He gets his woman. Allegra be damned. Little did he know- it would eventually push the unstable woman he used to be married to over the line that she'd apparently been straddling for a while.
Their road to happiness is in no way smooth- but for Hannah and Travis, the journey is one that they could never regret, because it ended with them together, and with all of their kids. Everyone is healthy and happy, and love is abundant. Just as it should be in a Lani Lynn book. So, it goes without saying that I'm giving this one a huge 5 stars, with the hope that I don't have to wait too long for the next Hail story to come along.
