I always felt that Kai was good, deep down, his soul was pure, even if some of the "crimes" he committed weren't such. He always seemed to have a sense of right and wrong about him. Every move he made was calculated, planned- precise. Exactly like the woman that he fell in love with. The woman that he never realized would come to mean everything to him, that he would risk everything for, and would also mean so much to someone he thought he hated- Banks.
These two, man, could any people have been better suited for one another? I thought Michael and Rika were perfect together, but seeing Kai and Banks, they made them pale in comparison. Everything about them was like beauty in motion- you couldn't help but be fascinated by them. Their's wasn't the same type of relationship that Michael and Rika had though, Kai didn't begin by hunting and "tormenting" her. He never tried to make her pay for what he felt were her sins. No, he chased her, because he knew that is thrilled her- it was their foreplay. He craved her like a drug, just as she did him. He worshiped her from the very beginning, and unlike Michael- he had no problems showing that.
A huge part of Kai and Banks's story is the one man who the crew is trying to find, and protect themselves from- Damon, even though Kai doesn't realize every reason for that, until much later. So, we see a lot of Damon again in Hideaway, which is a perfect setup to his book- Kill Switch, due out next year. And from reading the preview at the end of Hideaway- OMG, it is going to rock our very foundations. I, for one, cannot freaking wait.
Everything about Hideaway was pure Penelope genius, and it only made me love these Horsemen even more than I already do, so needless to say- it is highly recommended that you grab it now!!!

BANKS
Buried in the shadows of the city, there’s a hotel called The Pope. Ailing, empty, and dark—it sits abandoned and surrounded by a forgotten mystery.
But you think it’s true, don’t you, Kai Mori? The story about the hidden twelfth floor. The mystery of the dark guest who never checked in and never checks out. You think I can help you find that secret hideaway and get to him, don’t you?
You and your friends can try to scare me. You can try to push me. Because even though I struggle to hide everything I feel when you look at me—and have ever since I was a girl—I think that maybe what you seek is so much closer than you’ll ever realize.
I will never betray him.
So sit tight.
On Devil’s Night, the hunt will be coming to you.
KAI
You have no idea what I seek, Little One. You don’t know what I had to become to survive three years in prison for a crime I would gladly commit again.
No one can know what I’ve turned into.
I want that hotel, I want to find him, and I want this over.
I want my life back.
But the more I’m around you, the more I realize this new me is exactly who I was meant to be.
So come on, kid. Don’t chicken out. My house is on the hill. So many ways in, and good luck finding your way out.
I’ve seen your hideaway. Time to see mine.
