Yummy, yummy- what a delicious bunch of cake Charlie is!! Frankie Love has again made me swoon with the second book in this series, which is the story of Charlie and Maggie.
Charlie, you may remember from book 1 (Mountain Man Candy) is best friends with Clive and his business partner, whereas Maggie is Clive's little sister. You may also remember that Maggie seemed to have a little bit of a crush of the manwhore Charlie, unbeknownst to Charlie, that is.
See, Charlie and Maggie have known each other almost their entire lives- even if Charlie only ever saw Maggie as Clive's little sister, Maggie has always seen Charlie as the man she would grow old with. She has saved herself for years- her version of love, complete with children and white picket fence, all contained Charlie in it. Well, one tipsy night at Ocktoberfest in their small town, she gets her wish. Charlie finally sees Maggie as something more. He sees her as a woman. A woman that he wants. A woman that he needs. A woman that he intends to make his for the rest of his life.
This would all be a perfect fairytale ending, except that after Maggie gets her hot and romantic prelude, Clive, Greta and Hazel happen to stumble in and interrupt. Oopsie. So, just imagine how Clive reacts to that? Yeah, that's how. Needless to say, it's not smooth sailing for our lovers for quite a bit. There are tears- mainly Maggie's, there are curses- mainly Charlie's, and there are threats- mainly Clive's.
But eventually, the two make their way back to each other and Frankie Love gives us a glorious ending that we can all gush and squee over!! Absolutely worth every word. Do not hesitate to pick up this book, and this series, today. Pronto. It is awesome. Promise.
