New Release & Review!!! Nobody Knows-- Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Nobody Knows

Lani Lynn Vale

Release Date: November 10, 2020

About the Book

All he ever wanted was to matter to someone.

What he didn’t know was that he did matter to someone.

Someone that worried about him every single day that he was gone.

***

Malachi Gabriel Gnocchi was missing for two years. Thanks to a mission gone wrong, not only had he been captured, but his best friend along with his fellow teammates had been taken, too.

He spent two years in hell, hoping and praying that one day he’d get to go home.

And one day he does. Only, he isn’t the same person that left. Every single thing that made him Malachi is no more.

***

Sierra started writing to soldiers overseas through the soldier pen pal program when she was in high school. Years later, she had no idea that the one soldier that she’d been paired up with in the very beginning would be the one man that would change her world eight years down the road.

When the letters from her soldier stopped, she knew that something bad had happened.

When they started back up again two years after the last letter, she thought that someone was playing a joke on her.

Only, that joke wasn’t a joke at all.

The man on the other end of those letters is a man that’s dying slowly from the inside out.

He’s a living, breathing, mess and there’s only one thing she can do to help him.

Write him back and hope that she can bring him back from the edge.

MY REVIEW FOR NOBODY KNOWS:

Okay, let's be honest, is there any S.W.A.T. team member other than Malachai that we have been waiting to get the story of?? Alright, maybe Saint, but Malachai is most definitely one of the top two. This man was an enigma from the time that he was introduced into the series, and I for one, have been salivating for any piece of information that I could get on him since Lani gave us a glimpse into those haunted eyes.

I have been dying to know more about the man that suffered at the hands of some of the most hated and evil people in the world, the man who was so starved for love and affection in his life, that he clung to a dog for any spark of happiness in his dismal existence. And when that dog was taken from him, went to such great lengths to find him that it broke my heart into a milion pieces when I read that he didn't. I had to get this man's story.

Color me surprised when that story led to Sierra Spurlock. To one of the most well known families of LLV's. One of the best places for Malachai to land in. To one of the best women that he could ever hope to find- with one of the biggest hearts that you could ever imagine. And color me even more surprised to find that these two were literally destined to be together in every way you can possibly imagine. Their story was entwined together years before they ever officially met in person, and their history, while heartbreaking at times, only served to strengthen the bond that would carry them through some of the toughest times imaginable.

I am not going to give away any details except to say that their love was truly written in the stars, one for the record books even. If fate was to ever show itself, it was with Malachai and Sierra. What happens for them- pure beauty. Yes, there is ugliness, ugliness the likes you have never seen, and don't ever want to see again, but it doesn't take away from the ending beauty that they receive.

This is definitely one of my favorite couples of the S.W.A.T. kids, simply for how they grow throughout their relationship and for the things they have to face and overcome. They are made for one another, and Lani does a fantastic job of portraying that. She truly shows that soulmates exist, and that is one of the many reasons that she is one of my all time favorite authors!!

New Release & Review!!! Say It Ain't So-- Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Say It Ain’t So

Lani Lynn Vale

Release Date: September 8, 2020

About the Book

He should’ve never left his house. He should’ve stayed at home. He has a legitimate excuse—he’s running a fever and he’s fairly sure he’s developing pneumonia. He should have called in sick…but he doesn’t.

He goes to work, because his team is relying on him.

First, he has to sign about eight thousand calendars—all from women who purchased said calendars to benefit the Fallen Officer fundraiser. And when he’s done with that, he has to endure a television interview along with the rest of the SWAT team seeing as they made national news with their ‘Hot SWAT’ calendar that’s sold a million copies to women all over the world.

Needless to say, when Samuel Adams walks into the pharmacy hours later, he only has one thing on his mind. Ibuprofen.

Sadly, he never gets to the Ibuprofen. Mostly because before he gets there, he finds a junkie waving a gun around threatening to kill anybody that moves.

He’s running a fever. That has to be the reason that the girl in the corner begins cursing up a storm and drawing the junkie’s attention. Has to be.

***

Stop it, stop it, stop it!

She tells herself to take a deep breath. Tells herself that she needs to calm down. Tells herself that if she doesn’t get her act under control, things are going to get ugly.

And, of course, that’s when the curse words start flying.

The more nervous she gets, the worse her Tourette’s becomes. Which is, of course, why she stands up and gives the man a perfect target.

Thank God that the coughing giant in the corner makes the same move and saves her life.

Thank you, Tourette’s.

And how does she repay him? By calling him every awful word in the dictionary.

MY REVIEW FOR SAY IT AIN'T SO:

This book, y'all...... Oh lordy mercy talk about some spicy spiciness!! Sammy Spurlock is one smooth and dirty talker that every woman needs in her life, and the perfect man that Hastings got in hers.

Given that Hastings dealt with SO much in her childhood, and now adulthood, with her illness, this girl both needed and deserved a happy ending more than most. Who had any idea that it would come in the form of one of the notorious Spurlock spawn??

I loved how these two met, even if it wasn't the most conventional of ways, it was still flat out hilarious and wonderful, and set the perfect tone for their quirky relationship.

I adored how much these two supported one another, and how they both worked with the unexpected circumstances thrown their way, and made a beautiful life out of it. Throughout the horrific tragedies that they face, the drama that unfolds around them- they still stick together and come out stronger in the end. Now, don't get me wrong, my heart completely broke for them at one point- the tears were FLOWING, folks. It completely gutted me, but I had faith that Lani would bring us through it, and she did. But y'all, this one is going to rip your heart out, just be forewarned on that one.

Overall, this is one book that you cannot miss out on. You need to hear Sammy and Hastings story, as much as Lani needed to write it. You will NOT be disappointed, and you're going to want the next one ASAP.

New Release & Review!!! Get Bucked— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Release Date: April 21

Darby has always been ‘that’ guy.

The guy that no man, woman, or child wants around their loved one.

See, a long time ago he made some bad decisions. Those bad decisions have haunted him ever since. No matter what he does, people still see him as the town’s screw up. The boy that sold his soul to the Devil.

Years later, he’s turned himself around. Made amends and ultimately turned into a generally good guy. Only, it’s hard to act like a good guy when people still treat you like the old you, and not the new you.

Enter Waylynn Jennings.

Waylynn has watched Darby Valentine from afar for a very long time.

She’s witnessed the changes in him and knows the only reason he’s so mean is to protect the man that lies within. A battered, injured soul that deserves more than what he’s received. Even his own family takes him for granted.

She’s made it her new mission in life to prove to everyone that Darby isn’t the bad guy. That he’s a kind-hearted, sweet soul that’s just looking for a place to fit in.

Only, Darby is fairly sure that Waylynn is out to kill him, not help him. How else do you explain all the fights he’s having to break up on her behalf, or all the times he has to come to her rescue when she’s managed to put her cute little butt right in the middle of something where it shouldn’t be?

There’s obviously only one solution. He has to make her his. Then everyone will know not to mess with her.

Darby Valentine protects what’s his.

No matter what the cost.

MY REVIEW:

Man oh man, was it something seeing Darby all grown up, and an alpha in his own right!! Even though I should’ve known, I really had no idea how fierce and protective this Valentine was down to his core, but I guess it just took the right woman to bring it out in him, and Waylynn was absolutely the right woman for him.
I really think these two were like opposite sides of a coin, perfectly complimenting each other in every way. Interested in the same things, pursuing some of the same dreams, and loving the same values in life. Like I said, perfect together.
One thing I had a huge issue with, or should I say, one person- Waylynn’s father. He become persona non grata in my eyes, very quick. I couldn’t believe how he went from a well liked guy to someone I detested in a matter of pages. I wanted, no needed, him to have some Valentine justice handed to him, and I was a touch disappointed to see that it didn’t happen in the violent way I was craving, lol.
Anyway, I’m so happy to see that now all of our boys have their beautiful lives and women, and all rounded out in this series exactly as it should. And as sad as I am to see this amazing series put to bed, I’m always thrilled to see what new stuff Lani has on the horizon for us next.

New Release & Review!!! Ask Me If I Care— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Release Date: April 14

Ares saw him for the first time at a Kilgore Police Department benefit dinner. She’d gone with her dad as his plus one. Hayes Greer had gone by himself and brooded silently across the same table as her, drinking whiskey and not saying a word.

It only took that one time for her to become interested.

The next time she saw him, he was doing another benefit—but this one requiring a whole lot fewer clothes. And that was when she knew. She wanted him. Badly. But the morose Hayes was too busy thinking about his sins to see what was right in front of his face—Ares.
***
Hayes Greer knew the moment that he saw the feisty Ares Downy again that he should’ve stayed away. Maybe if he hadn’t done the stupid calendar, he wouldn’t be questioning every single woman’s intentions.

Maybe if he’d listened to that niggling feeling telling him to stay away, he would’ve been able to do his job a little better. But seeing her with a knife to her throat, in the middle of a building set to blow, made his usually well-wired brain start to malfunction.

Because nobody was allowed to touch her like that—only him. Nobody was allowed to scare her, either. Not and live to tell the tale.

MY REVIEW:

Oh Hayes, you sweet beautifully broken and sexy man!!! This one was one that I just had to dive into as soon as it hit my Kindle, and it most certainly did not disappoint.
Ares and Hayes meet under some interesting circumstances, and the fire between them is pretty much immediate. Outside forces may have tried to put a damper on their feelings, but there was no denying what was brewing between these two. It was a force to be reckoned with. I mean, Ares was a Downy for goodness sakes.
And speaking of the Downy clan- let me just say that the sibling hilarity between Lock and Ares, is truly EPIC. A thing of beauty. I truly thought I was going to piss my pants laughing at these two sometimes. They reminded me of my brother and myself so many times- I just loved it. And Papa Downy- he’s still just as awesome as he was in his and Memphis’s heyday.
Let me just tell y’all- you wanna get this book, and get it now. Ares and Hayes are a dynamic duo, and when they come together, it’s wonderful, beautiful, and just something you need in your life. The drama, the laughter, the love and the just amazingness of LLV- you want it all- believe me!!!

New Release & Review!!! Chute Yeah-- Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Release Date: March 24

Candy Ray Sunshine—Yes, that is my real name, thank you very much, Mom and Dad—knew two things.

One, she was going to work her butt off and open her very own coffee shop, even if she had to die doing it.

Two, Banks Valentine was the world’s worst ex-boyfriend in the history of ex-boyfriends. Even if they were only boyfriend and girlfriend for one evening. She wouldn’t sneeze on him even if he was on fire.

***

Banks Valentine also knew two things.

One, he was an immature jerk when he was in high school, and Candy Ray Sunshine probably could open a coffee shop if she put her mind to it. But he still thinks that she should shoot a little higher, anything that gets her the heck out of Kilgore, Texas.

Two, he likes riding bulls. It’s a dangerous job, and when he gets on the back of one of those thousand-pound death machines, he can finally feel his head clear enough that he can think.

***

Candy and Banks would never get along. Not after what he said, and definitely not after what she did.

Then again, neither one of them expected that night to end the way it did, either—the night that both of them refused to talk about the next morning.

MY REVIEW:

Y'all....... You have no clue what you're in for with this one. Banks Valentine is one hot piece of Valentine man, let me tell you. And as for Candy?? You thought Codie and Desi were something?? They had NOTHING on this girl. Absolutely nothing.
This girl has seen some crap. Some god awful darkness and ugly in her life. Had some bad junk happen to her, that none of the other girls have faced, and it has both wounded her and shaped her into the beautifully strong woman that Banks cares so much for. She is both a protector and partner of Banks, knowing the horror of his past, and being able to commiserate with it because of her own.
Their story isn't all peaches and cream, let's face it- they have a past, and it had some bumps and bruises, but it got them to where they are. And their story actually, I feel, brought them even closer as a couple.
I just overall loved these two, possibly more than any other Valentine Boys couple. Actually, I'm pretty sure that I did. These two fought their attraction more than the others, which made it all that much sweeter when they finally gave in. It was beautiful, and epic, and an HEA that was so well deserved by two people that had seen more ugly in the world than anyone ever should.
I recommend it to every LLV fan, and to every one else as well, because even if you aren't a fan yet, after reading Chute Yeah, you definitely will be!

New Release & Review!!! Runaway Road— Devney Perry!!!

Oh how I do love me some Devney Perry!! Now, any time she puts put a new series, I always get a little tingly feeling, wondering just how it’s all gonna go down, but with this one, I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive. I didn’t know if this story was going to grab me the way all of her other books had. It was different. The whole premise and storyline was something that she had never done. So, I just didn’t know if I was going to connect to it or not. What a fool I was to worry.
I was hooked from the very first chapter y’all, as soon as I saw what Londyn’s plan was, I knew I had to have it all. I knew I was in for this joyride with my hands up in the air, going full throttle. And what a ride it was.
A true journey of self discovery, Londyn is basically finding her way, not back home, but to the home that she never found to begin with. And she also had to find herself along the way. And with Brooks there to help her, wow. Their story is beautiful, magical and real. And that’s something that I always love about Devney’s books. They are always real.
I was well and truly fascinated with both Londyn and Brooks, as well as this small little WV town that brought them together, and the love that they built, all while thinking their time was limited. It was fantastic.
I can’t wait for the rest of the series, as I know they’ll be just as spectacular, and I’m going to fall just as hard.

RUNAWAY ROAD

New Release & Review!!! Maybe Swearing Will Help— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Whether you call them Ashe and Ford, or Soot and Chevy, these two are ON FIRE!!! Their combined history is something that lends itself to both a mutual love and hate relationship that makes this book, easily one of my new favorites.
I had no clue that these guys were going to grab my heart the way they did, but their playful banter and bickering had me rolling the entire time. They just could not help themselves, except to continuously one up one another, even while doing everything they could to look out for, and support the other one.
You could see the pure and true love shining like a beacon long before they ever finally gave into the attraction that was busting at the seams.
I also loved seeing Torren and Tru, along with Trance and Viddy, get to become something they always hoped to be, and to see Torren’s reaction to the news- pure hilarity.
It’s a perfect addition to the next generation, and I’m so glad to see that these two were matched together, as I can’t imagine a better pair coming together.

Release Date: March 10

Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies.

He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs.

Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for.

Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful.

She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either.

That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon.
***
Ashe never thought he’d agree.

Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it.

She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door.

When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair.

Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to.

When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree.

What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.
