Yippee!! Another Alexa Riley book. Who else squeals like a little girl when they see these ladies release a new story? I know I can't be the only one. These are truly some of the best of the best. I love the guilty pleasure that an AR book brings, the safety of knowing the hero of the book worships his woman fiercely and loyally, and the happiness that it gives my heart at the end of the book. It can't be beaten.
Calder and Felicity are truly no exception. Their story is almost a forbidden love, with Calder in essence being Felicity's father's boss. That said- it doesn't stop Calder in the least. He is determined that Felicity is his- from the first note he hears of her violin. She is it for him. Their passion is immediate, and it only continues to burn throughout the book. These two never cool down. Not that I have ever seen any of AR's couples do so- they are forever hot for each other.
I did hate the way that Calder approached the marriage proposal to Felicity. While I understand that he was blindly in love with her, and was willing to do whatever it took to have her- I wished that he had only spoken his true feelings for her from the beginning, so as to not start their life together with that tension in the air. I know that all was resolved in the end, and it worked out as it should've but, I still had an issue with that. I hated to see Felicity have those hard feelings toward Calder and only think he wanted her due to their "surprise" or just to be a jerk.
Just as always when I finish an AR book, I am already craving the next one. I have already started stalking the fan page to see when we may get the next gem from the writing cave, hopefully it won't be too long!! Kudos ladies on another fab book!! 5 stars!!!!!

The past weeks have made me crazy with want, and I’ve done all I can to stay away. So many years my life has felt hollow, but since I found her on the balcony, something has changed. She crept into those empty spaces, and I need more. I crave her like oxygen.

I gently pull back her blanket, careful not to wake her yet. Looking down, I see she’s wearing a small T-shirt with her college crest on it and pale blue cotton panties. I’m a little surprised at her innocent underwear given how her dad had mentioned she was just like her mother. Then again, she didn’t expect me to come sneaking into her room tonight, so maybe that’s why she didn’t wear anything sexier. I like the look of these panties, though. When I push away the blanket completely, I crawl into the bed on top of her.
Her eyes pop open, and she looks alarmed for just a moment before they focus and recognize it’s me. There’s a moment when she takes in a breath as if she’s going to scream, but then just lets it out slowly. She’s still as she looks into my eyes, the questions starting to mount. In the moonlight, I can see the blush deepen across her cheeks.
“Felicity,” I breathe the second before my lips land on hers.
I’ve held off as long as I could, but I have to taste her again. I have to claim her mouth as mine, because God knows who she’s given it to since we’ve been apart. I growl at the thought before pushing it away and sweeping my tongue inside her mouth.
She lets out a little whimper, but her hands go to the back of my head, holding me to her. Pressing the full weight of my body on top of her, I give into my urges and hold her tightly to me. My hands go to her sides and push the small shirt above her curvy waist, needing her skin against mine. My mouth moves to her neck, and I hear her say my name again, this time with a question on the end of it.
