This is most definitely the Kendrick sibling that we have all been waiting for, people. We may have thought that Logan was the one that we wanted to read about, and while I will admit that he was charismatic and fascinating to devour- he was nothing like Sofia.
This girl, she has been through more internal pain than you could shake a stick at. While some may say, "Oh poor little rich girl- she had her feelings hurt"..... It goes so much deeper than that, y'all. This girl really was the forgotten one of the three Kendrick siblings throughout her childhood. The one that no one ever took seriously, that every one always looked at as having her head in the clouds, the one that was always dismissed with the flick of a hand and the one who was always the first to blame for "embarrassing" the family name. It was enough to wear away on the fragile woman that only wanted the most fundamental thing in life- to love and be loved.
And given that's what Sofia wanted most, I think she was the most perfect person to be paired with Dakota. A man that had his own fair share of being neglected and feeling unloved and shunned from his family- was the one man that she could've come across that needed love as much as she did. But they had to teach one another to love- from the bottom up. And I think that's why their story may be the most beautiful one of all. These two had to teach one another to trust, to love and depend on each other to be the other's "person", which was a completely foreign concept to both. They had to both let go of their former misconceptions of each other, whatever those may have been, to find what they had been looking for all along- pure and true love.
I'm so happy with the way that this series turned out, even if I am still sad that it's ending. But, I know that just means that Devney Perry has something else coming up, that will be a new beginning to something wonderful that will make me fall in love with a whole new bunch of characters, and for that- I can leave Montana with a smile on my face.
