In the small, sleepy Southern town of Paradise, not everything is as it seems. Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, the tiny country town seems like it would be the perfect spot to raise a family, build a life and enjoy living in what most natives call ‘God’s Country’. What no one seems to realize is that there are secrets hiding in the families of this quaint little community – especially the McKinnon clan.
And everyone knows, in a family, secrets never stay secret for long.
“Another Hit, if you love romance and action this book is for you. As a Wife of a U.S.Marine veteran I highly recommend this book. LOVE LOVED IT. I ALWAYS LOVE THIS AMAZING AUTHOR!!!” ~ Cain’s Salvation from an Amazon Reviewer
“To wrap this up before I get to chatty... this was 153 (Kindle version) pages long and I'm fairly certain if I was left alone with no interruptions I would have finished this in one afternoon. The pacing if ideal, the tale was effortless to read, and the anxiety build up to the climax was superb! Can't wait to find out who the next book is about!” ~ Cain’s Salvation from Rough Draft Book Blog
MY REVIEW FOR CAIN'S SALVATION:
With this one book, I fell in love with this entire series. That's right, it only took one book for me to become HOOKED on all things Sarah O'Rourke. See, I read a snippet of a sneak peek for Ready, Willing and Abel one night on Facebook, and did something that I've never done. I messaged the author and asked to review the series. I had never before felt so compelled by a story to personally reach out to the author and ask for it. I didn't care if I had to buy them myself, I just wanted those gals to know that I wanted to review them for the blog, so I guess I was hooked before I ever even got them. They sent them to me right away, and I dove right in.
I was enthralled from the beginning. See, Cain and Faith are two lovers ripped apart by Cain's own personal demons, those that he suffers from after his tour in the Army. So, their story is that of a love rekindled and of two souls trying to find their way back to their mates. Faith has to learn to forgive Cain for breaking her heart, as well as work to be able to trust him again, while Cain has to try and rid hims f of the ugliness that's locked up in his head. Their journey back to one another is rough, but oh so sweet.
As I had never had any experience with Sarah's work before, I had no idea what to expect, but was more than pleasantly satisfied with the direction of the book. Meeting all of the McKinnon sisters, and most of the men who were crazy about them, well that was just the cherry on Cain and Faith's cupcake!! And the sex- holy crap. It's good. I mean GOOD!!
I cannot recommend this series enough, and these crazy ladies are now some of my all time faves!! I've messaged them so many times to tell them how much I love these guys, and how I'll hate to see them go. Honestly, I'm hoping for a spinoff series of the kids of the couples, not to mention the other Paradise residents so that I don't have to give them up!!!
5 huge stars!!!
“LOVED this book! LOVED the first book and this one was even better! Jake was this bad-ass that flew into town like he was going to turn everything upside down. It was so good to see what a good woman could finally do to him. A man that looked to have no heart at all….. This series is one to read! One to put on your TBR and to continue to follow.. Sarah is an amazing author! And I am so glad I had a chance to read this!! Thank you Sarah! <3 I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!” ~ Hard as Stone from Book Worms
“So I finished reading Hard as Stone yesterday and I have to say... Wow! Just wow! I thought Cain's Salvation was good, but the McKinnon sisters and their men kept me on the edge of my seat and my face shoved in my kindle for two days. I absolutely love this series and I can't WAIT for Ready, Willing, and Abel….” ~Hard as Stone from Amazon Reviewer
MY REVIEW FOR HARD AS STONE:
Color me surprised when I saw that Harmony's story was the next in the series!! I honestly expected it to be Patience or Honor who would have their world's rocked, not Harm, since at the end of book one, their wasn't a man mentioned for her yet, whereas the other sisters did have a hint of something.
Enter Jake Stone, the sexy as sin DEA agent who comes to Paradise to dig around about Harmony's lowlife of an ex husband and also to try and determine if the McKinnon sisters themselves might be hiding something. Li tale did he realize that he was going to instantly discover the purity and goodness of the McKinnon family, but also fall for the oldest sis of the bunch, while trying his best to protect her.
There were so many times that I found myself wanting to yell at Jake to come clean about his identity, and his past, so that there would be nothing in his and Harmony's way of a good life!! Alas, the stubborn man went his own way, and paid for it eventually. Luckily the citizens of Paradise, along with Harmony's adorable daughter, Heaven, solved the problem for the two of them!!
Now, this book was a bit darker than the first, in that it dives more into Honor's horrific past, and the truth about what really happened on that fateful night comes out, as well as the majority of who was responsible for it. I'm not going to lie- it's tough to read, but it's crucial to the story. It only helps to understand the monster that Tanner (the lowlife ex of Harmony) is, as well as why Honor is the way she is. The subject was handled exceptionally well, as it's a touchy subject matter, so kudos to Sarah for that.
Jake and Harmony made a fantastic book 2 for the series, and just as hot and sexy as Cain and Faith. It's definitely not to be missed!! Not to mention that epilogue!! Loved seeing Jake as the big bad daddy, and Heaven all grown up with her own alpha!! I'm telling ya, a spinoff about the kids would be gold!! ;)
Another 5 star read by this awesome team!!
Sarah O'Rourke is the alter ego of two best friends who have taken their passion for romantic fiction and erotica to the publishing world. Born and raised in the southern United States, one lives near Louisville, KY, while the other resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Neither is ever very far from a tall glass of sweet iced tea, their dog-eared copies of Gone With the Wind, or their Steel Magnolias DVDs!
Formerly an accountant and a chemist, they are now overworked, stay-at-home moms who adore their children, their husbands...and writing about love in every way possible!
