New Release & Review!!! Ask Me If I Care— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Release Date: April 14

Ares saw him for the first time at a Kilgore Police Department benefit dinner. She’d gone with her dad as his plus one. Hayes Greer had gone by himself and brooded silently across the same table as her, drinking whiskey and not saying a word.

It only took that one time for her to become interested.

The next time she saw him, he was doing another benefit—but this one requiring a whole lot fewer clothes. And that was when she knew. She wanted him. Badly. But the morose Hayes was too busy thinking about his sins to see what was right in front of his face—Ares.
***
Hayes Greer knew the moment that he saw the feisty Ares Downy again that he should’ve stayed away. Maybe if he hadn’t done the stupid calendar, he wouldn’t be questioning every single woman’s intentions.

Maybe if he’d listened to that niggling feeling telling him to stay away, he would’ve been able to do his job a little better. But seeing her with a knife to her throat, in the middle of a building set to blow, made his usually well-wired brain start to malfunction.

Because nobody was allowed to touch her like that—only him. Nobody was allowed to scare her, either. Not and live to tell the tale.

MY REVIEW:

Oh Hayes, you sweet beautifully broken and sexy man!!! This one was one that I just had to dive into as soon as it hit my Kindle, and it most certainly did not disappoint.
Ares and Hayes meet under some interesting circumstances, and the fire between them is pretty much immediate. Outside forces may have tried to put a damper on their feelings, but there was no denying what was brewing between these two. It was a force to be reckoned with. I mean, Ares was a Downy for goodness sakes.
And speaking of the Downy clan- let me just say that the sibling hilarity between Lock and Ares, is truly EPIC. A thing of beauty. I truly thought I was going to piss my pants laughing at these two sometimes. They reminded me of my brother and myself so many times- I just loved it. And Papa Downy- he’s still just as awesome as he was in his and Memphis’s heyday.
Let me just tell y’all- you wanna get this book, and get it now. Ares and Hayes are a dynamic duo, and when they come together, it’s wonderful, beautiful, and just something you need in your life. The drama, the laughter, the love and the just amazingness of LLV- you want it all- believe me!!!

New Release & Review!!! Chute Yeah-- Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Release Date: March 24

Candy Ray Sunshine—Yes, that is my real name, thank you very much, Mom and Dad—knew two things.

One, she was going to work her butt off and open her very own coffee shop, even if she had to die doing it.

Two, Banks Valentine was the world’s worst ex-boyfriend in the history of ex-boyfriends. Even if they were only boyfriend and girlfriend for one evening. She wouldn’t sneeze on him even if he was on fire.

***

Banks Valentine also knew two things.

One, he was an immature jerk when he was in high school, and Candy Ray Sunshine probably could open a coffee shop if she put her mind to it. But he still thinks that she should shoot a little higher, anything that gets her the heck out of Kilgore, Texas.

Two, he likes riding bulls. It’s a dangerous job, and when he gets on the back of one of those thousand-pound death machines, he can finally feel his head clear enough that he can think.

***

Candy and Banks would never get along. Not after what he said, and definitely not after what she did.

Then again, neither one of them expected that night to end the way it did, either—the night that both of them refused to talk about the next morning.

MY REVIEW:

Y'all....... You have no clue what you're in for with this one. Banks Valentine is one hot piece of Valentine man, let me tell you. And as for Candy?? You thought Codie and Desi were something?? They had NOTHING on this girl. Absolutely nothing.
This girl has seen some crap. Some god awful darkness and ugly in her life. Had some bad junk happen to her, that none of the other girls have faced, and it has both wounded her and shaped her into the beautifully strong woman that Banks cares so much for. She is both a protector and partner of Banks, knowing the horror of his past, and being able to commiserate with it because of her own.
Their story isn't all peaches and cream, let's face it- they have a past, and it had some bumps and bruises, but it got them to where they are. And their story actually, I feel, brought them even closer as a couple.
I just overall loved these two, possibly more than any other Valentine Boys couple. Actually, I'm pretty sure that I did. These two fought their attraction more than the others, which made it all that much sweeter when they finally gave in. It was beautiful, and epic, and an HEA that was so well deserved by two people that had seen more ugly in the world than anyone ever should.
I recommend it to every LLV fan, and to every one else as well, because even if you aren't a fan yet, after reading Chute Yeah, you definitely will be!

New Release & Review!!! Runaway Road— Devney Perry!!!

Oh how I do love me some Devney Perry!! Now, any time she puts put a new series, I always get a little tingly feeling, wondering just how it’s all gonna go down, but with this one, I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive. I didn’t know if this story was going to grab me the way all of her other books had. It was different. The whole premise and storyline was something that she had never done. So, I just didn’t know if I was going to connect to it or not. What a fool I was to worry.
I was hooked from the very first chapter y’all, as soon as I saw what Londyn’s plan was, I knew I had to have it all. I knew I was in for this joyride with my hands up in the air, going full throttle. And what a ride it was.
A true journey of self discovery, Londyn is basically finding her way, not back home, but to the home that she never found to begin with. And she also had to find herself along the way. And with Brooks there to help her, wow. Their story is beautiful, magical and real. And that’s something that I always love about Devney’s books. They are always real.
I was well and truly fascinated with both Londyn and Brooks, as well as this small little WV town that brought them together, and the love that they built, all while thinking their time was limited. It was fantastic.
I can’t wait for the rest of the series, as I know they’ll be just as spectacular, and I’m going to fall just as hard.

RUNAWAY ROAD

Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.

Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend.

She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom.

Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

New Release & Review!!! Maybe Swearing Will Help— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Whether you call them Ashe and Ford, or Soot and Chevy, these two are ON FIRE!!! Their combined history is something that lends itself to both a mutual love and hate relationship that makes this book, easily one of my new favorites.
I had no clue that these guys were going to grab my heart the way they did, but their playful banter and bickering had me rolling the entire time. They just could not help themselves, except to continuously one up one another, even while doing everything they could to look out for, and support the other one.
You could see the pure and true love shining like a beacon long before they ever finally gave into the attraction that was busting at the seams.
I also loved seeing Torren and Tru, along with Trance and Viddy, get to become something they always hoped to be, and to see Torren’s reaction to the news- pure hilarity.
It’s a perfect addition to the next generation, and I’m so glad to see that these two were matched together, as I can’t imagine a better pair coming together.

Release Date: March 10

Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies.

He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs.

Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for.

Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful.

She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either.

That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon.
***
Ashe never thought he’d agree.

Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it.

She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door.

When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair.

Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to.

When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree.

What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.

New Release & Review!!! Crazy Heifer— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Okay, first and foremost, Mal needs either a good ole throat punch, or a nice little love tap to the junk. That’s a well and true obvious fact. I don’t know that a man has angered me that much in a book, in quite a while. And I use the term man, VERY loosely with that one. No one that treats a woman the way he treated Desi can really be called a man.
Now as for Callum Valentine, WOW. What a man. A mighty, mighty good man!! One of the best men there are. To have him swoop in and basically be a white knight, time and time again- yes, just all the way yes. Was it because he wanted Desi as his? Yes. But it was also because he was just a dang good person who stood up for what was right. And seeing someone tear down this beautiful creature that was Desi, was not gonna fly with him.
Not to mention the rest of the Valentine gang rallied around their new “sister”, and Desi was cushioned in more love than she’d ever seen.
Everything about Crazy Heifer was phenomenal, and I can’t imagine how wonderful Banks and Candy are gonna be!!

The Valentine Boys #2
Release Date: February 25

I fell in love with his rope skills. I stayed because somehow he took hold of my heart and made it his.

Callum Valentine didn’t mean to eavesdrop. Then again? When a man is calling a woman fat right in front of your table, it’s kind of hard not to intervene. Especially when the town’s most beautiful creature ever is the one being called fat.

Desi just wants to be left alone. After an ugly divorce, she thinks she’s in the clear. Then her ex takes it upon himself to continue to make her life miserable, giving Desi no choice but to take it or leave.

In fact, her bags were nearly all the way packed when Callum poked his nose into the most embarrassing spectacle the town of Kilgore has ever witnessed. The moment he declares her his and off limits, everything changes—and definitely not for the better.

As if things couldn’t get worse than being called a pitiful, fat heifer in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen, Callum has to go and say that she’s his, and they have to play a game that she’s not quite sure she wants to be playing.

But before her eyes, things change. And suddenly the rules of the game aren’t clear. And they’re crossing boundaries neither one of them see coming.

Cover Reveal!!! Nightfall— Penelope Douglas!!!

Nightfall - CR banner.jpg

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas comes the thrilling, final installment in the Devil’s Night series…

Nightfall-FOR-WEB.jpg

EMORY
They call it Blackchurch. A secluded mansion in a remote, undisclosed location where the wealthy and powerful send their misbehaving sons to cool off away from prying eyes.
Will Grayson has always been an animal, though. Reckless, wild, and someone who was never bound by a single rule other than to do exactly what he wanted. There was no way his grandfather was going to risk him humiliating the family again.
Not that the last time was entirely his fault. He might’ve enjoyed backing me into corners in high school when no one was looking, so they wouldn’t catch on that Mr. Popular actually wanted a piece of that quiet, little nerd he loved to torture so much, but…
He could also be warm. And fierce in keeping me safe.
The truth is… He has a right to hate me.
It’s all my fault. Everything.
Devils Night. The videos. The arrests.
I’m to blame for all of it.
And I regret nothing.

WILL
I never minded being locked up. I learned a long time ago that being treated like an animal gives you permission to act like one. No one has ever looked at me any other way.
Their only mistake is believing anything I do is an accident. I can sit in this house with no Internet, television, liquor, or girls, but I’ll come out of here with something far more frightening to my enemies.
A plan.
And a new pack of wolves.
I just didn’t expect one of my enemies to come to me.
I don’t know who smuggled her in or if they meant to leave her here, but I can smell her hiding in the house. She’s here.
And as the security detail leaves the supplies, the gates close, and the door to my gilded cage opens, giving me free reign of the house and grounds for another unsupervised month, I remember with a smile…
Blackchurch houses five prisoners. I’m only one of her problems.

*Nightfall, Devil’s Night #4, is a full-length, romantic suspense suitable for readers 18+. It’s necessary to read the prior installments in the series before starting this story.

New Release & Review!!! Fries Before Guys— Lani Lynn Vale!!!

Y’all, how is possible that the kids are more fabulous than the originals?!?!? Because that’s exactly what’s happened here!! Derek and Avery completely blew me away. Like left me speechless. I mean, this is now one of my all time favorite books. That’s how powerful it was to me. And I don’t say that lightly.
Each of Lani’s books resonate with me on a personal level, but this one, wow. There was just something about it. Maybe it was the crappy hand at life that Avery had been dealt, that she’d had to overcome. The fighter that she clearly was, the resilience that she’d shown in every aspect of her life. Or possibly it was the restraint that Derek showed in denying himself something he wanted so badly, the one woman that made him finally breathe easier.
Whatever the reason, this book totally did it for me. All the way. It’s one of, if not THE best of hers yet. I love every single thing about it. Every single word, and I want to shout it to the rooftops. Every one of you need to read it. And NOW.

Sometimes people come into a person’s life and make their heart skip a beat.

Those people are called cops.

Well, one cop in particular.

A SWAT officer for the Kilgore Police Department, to be specific.

The first time Avery Flynn saw Derek Roberts, she was photographing him for the first annual Kilgore Police Department SWAT calendar. He was leaned back in his squad car, shirtless, and giving her a smile that was completely between them. A smile that hinted at what he wanted to do to her later.

When she scrounges up the courage to ask him out after the photoshoot, he laughs in her face.

Well, screw you, too, Mr. February.

***

Derek Roberts never really paid attention to the photographer.

She was a mousy girl who dressed like a twelve-year-old girl. Her tight leggings, extra baggy Star Trek t-shirt denoting her a Klingon captain, and her surprisingly clean Chucks didn’t leave much of an impression.

Now, the outfit that she was in weeks after he rebuffed her? Yeah, now that caught his attention.

Too bad that happens when he’s trying to save her from what’s sure to be death thanks to an unhinged native Texan who’s convinced she was the reason he lost his last chance at a million dollars.

When he tries to save her, she tells him she’d rather take a cattle prod to the forehead than go anywhere with him.

Challenge. Accepted
