Not only was this one a complete surprise from the ladies of Alexa Riley, but it is also Thanksgiving themed! Hello, how many books do we get about that particular holiday?? Not many! So, for them to be from AR, makes it even better! Bring on the baby gravy references!!
Hunter and Autumn, while having never met, are step-siblings that find themselves in the same home over the Thanksgiving holiday. Hunter's father, a true salt of the earth man, is married to Autumn's gold-digger of a mother- Porsha. Given the atrocious nature of her mother, Hunter figures that Autumn is cut from the same cloth, and quickly dismisses meeting her, even as Neil (his dad) urges him to do so. Why, you may ask? Because the truth is, Autumn is the polar opposite of her mom, and as sweet as pie. Not to mention, Neil knows that she is the perfect woman for his son, even if Hunter has yet to realize it himself.
Luckily, while avoiding Porsha's roaming hands (did I mention how horrid this woman was), Hunter slips away during the holiday party to his childhood bedroom, where Autumn finds him. She only wanted the chance to meet the man who for whom she'd carried a torch so long, having done so from only a stolen photograph.
Needless to say, as this is an AR book, one look between these two and it's love at first sight, and the lust explodes. Pure steam and yummy goodness follow, with both having a night they'll never forget. All too soon, daylight breaks, and reality sets in, which brings about a horrible turn of events that briefly tears our lovers apart.
Never fear, Alexa Riley doesn't let us down, as Hunter and Autumn finally receive their much deserved HEA- with a special surprise to boot. Porsha gets what she deserves, and a new blended family is created.
I cannot begin to gush enough about how much of a welcome surprise this book was, and how I cannot wait until the next release, that is planned to be Christmas themed, because I am already salivating for it.
