We finally get to see Asa change his ways, proving that yes- a leopard can change his spots. Poor Asa walked around for so long, unable to let go of the guilt that he carried due to his former misdeeds. It broke my heart. Seeing this beautiful Southern man think that he is beyond repair, that he wasn't worthy of the love of his friends, his family- or even Royal. It killed me. So, I was an insta-fan of Royal's when I saw that she was super determined to show Asa that she was not going away. She wasn't giving up. And, she was damn sure going to prove that he was worthy of every ounce of love she had to offer.
Their story is just as hot and steamy as every couple's that came before, in the Marked Men series- it doesn't disappoint at all. Plus, we get in plenty of time with the rest of the gang, and see how far they have progressed over time. And personally, I love when an author does that- I want to see that those characters that I fell in love with are still living life to the fullest. Being happy. Being in love.
Kudos to Jay, for another great book, and a wonderful way to close out the Marked Men series. Even though I hate to see it end, I'm excited to see what she has in store for us next. 5 stars!!!
