MY REVIEW FOR WITHOUT ME:
Yep, I cried- I did. Nope, I'm not ashamed to admit it. Why, you ask? Because, it's the end. The last book of an absolutely phenomenal series, by an amazing author. You see, I have been following Chelle since the beginning. Way back when she released Untangle Me- I was a fan. Right from the start. And I have faithfully read every book that she has given us since then. They have all been spectacular. But this series- it's been wonderful. This family- they've woven themselves into my heart. The Gallo clan, is quite simply- pure love and family, with no reservations.
So, to have the story end with Anthony was quite fitting. He was the last of the Gallos to fall, the last to succumb to the siren song of love. But honestly, we all knew he would be. Throughout the rest of the sibling's quests- he has been the lone holdout. He has been the joker, the one to mercilessly ridicule the rest of them for falling in love. Always declaring that it would never happen to him. And then- it did.
Boy, was I not expecting Max. She was a total surprise for me- way out of left field, but totally what Anthony needed. Someone to be able to put up with his casual, devil may care attitude, while still being able to bring him to his knees. However, Anthony didn't seem to mind the fall one bit. And fall he did. Like a ton of bricks. He stood by her- through everything, making sure to prove to her that he was in it for the long haul. My heart broke for Max, and her story, so I needed her to have someone strong to be there to pick her up and keep her going. What better man of strength, than a Gallo??
I truly hope that I haven't given anything away for you guys, because, honestly you HAVE to read this story- no, this series, and experience it for yourselves. You have to live and breathe this characters, and fall in love with them- just like the rest of us did. While I know that this is a bittersweet book, as it closes out the Gallo chapters, I look forward to reading Chelle's new stuff, that she promises will give us glimpses of Gallos in the future.
This one gets 5 huge stars from me, and is most certainly an epic ending to a fantastic series!!
