MY REVIEWS FOR NIGHT SHIFT:
OFF DUTY- Sawyer Bennett
Okay, Holly and Tim- how can you not love the story behind these two?? Two young lovers, torn apart by ignorance, only to reunited later in life. I loved it. The fact that Tim is a "man in uniform"- only makes it that much better!! The chemistry between the two of them had obviously never died, and that just made it super hot. This is definitely an awesome addition to Sawyer's former books, and one that you should not miss- 5 stars!!
SWIMMING IN SHADOWS- Eden Butler
Ryan, oh poor Ryan- what a sexy, yet tortured man!! I loved him!! I adored his dedication to his mission, and the love he had for his mother. And Evangeline- why can't all heroines be that awesome?? She is so strong, intelligent and independent- it was such a refreshing change from the whiny brats that we see in other stories. Their past together made one sexy coming together, and one that you do not want to miss out on. I have loved everything that I have ever read by Eden, and this is definitely no exception. So, I am so excited to get more Neil Ryan in Shadows & Lies (check that one out too)!!! 5 stars for this awesome read!!
HEALING TOUCH- Brenda Rothert
Well, Carson is officially the hottest mechanical engineer that I have ever had the pleasure of reading about!! Talk about sex on a stick.... Even while trying to avoid connections, due to his past heartache, he still finds himself unable to resist the charms of the sweet OB doc- Joss. And poor Joss!! Talk about having the most utterly horrific betrayal happen to you!! I wanted to punch her ex in the throat!! So, the fact that these two could look past all of that in order to find something that may change their lives- yeah, that was pretty damn great. This was actually my first story from Brenda, but I definitely don't think that it will be my last. I loved her writing, and am giving this one 5 stars!!
WANTING TO FORGET- Toni Aleo
Is it possible to love and hate a hero, at the same time?? Because, honestly- that's how I felt about Jordie. And it sucks. I wanted so bad to adore him. But I just couldn't. This guy- who is secretly pining away for his best friend's sis (even though he is a self professed playboy), seems to think that the only way to forget her- is to find pleasure elsewhere. That's where I had the problem. I can understand his heartache- I truly can. But, if you love someone- you don't find another body to warm her spot, until you can make it better. You just don't. So, even though I didn't care for Jordie, or his man-whoring ways, I still loved Toni's storytelling style. I loved the way that she made the story flow, and the comraderie of all of the characters- even if they were hiding things from each other. So, regardless of the negative- I still give this one 4 stars, and recommend it!!
REBOUND- Chelle Bliss
So, this is probably my favorite story of the entire book. Why, you ask?? Because of Flash. I have followed this lovesick, romantic soul throughout his courtship with the lovely Izzy Gallo, down to the forlorn man that he had become. And I fell for him. I couldn't help it. I never thought that he was the man for Izzy, but I always wanted him to have his HEA. I needed that for him. So, when he found Fiona, while trying to drink away his sorrows in New Orleans- I was freaking thrilled. Like fist pumping excited. Add to the pros that she immediately made him forget his heartache, made him not once think of the woman that left him heartbroken- and that just sealed the deal for me. Fiona was perfect. And Flash, well Flash- he was finally back on his way to being whole again. It's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Chelle's. I mean, I've been there from the beginning for her- one of "her originals", as she says. So, it should also be no surprise that I am giving this book 5 stars. Actually, it needs more- many, many more. Chelle is not an author that you want to miss- so, get your tail in gear and discover her NOW!!
CLOSET CONFESSION- Kindle Alexander
Being that this is the only M/M story in the book, one may think that it would be hard to rate it. One would be wrong. This story, one of pure and true love, is so damn amazing. Easily my second fave of the book- I just wanted to steal Derek and Justin out of my Kindle, and have them be my new roomies. They were just that awesome. The love that they share- hidden as it may be, was so raw and beautiful. They truly lived for each other, both willing to give up everything to make the other's life happy. And Derek's aunt- I need her in my life!! STAT!!! She is freaking hilarious, even if she drives those around her nuts. I am giving this one 5 huge stars also, because the story is so much more than hot- I cannot even begin to tell you. I would love to get more Derek and Justin-- pretty please Kindle!!!
