Untangle Me-- Chelle Bliss

Okay lovelies, this is my second blog tour to spread the love about the fabulous Chelle Bliss, and her novel- Untangle Me!! Gotta show you how much I love an author's work to do two blog tours for her!!!! You see, I have had the extreme pleasure of getting to chat with Chelle a lot of the last few months via Facebook, and have been keeping up with the progress of the book- so it was very much a work that was close to my heart. I love when I get to chat with authors and get a glimpse into the genius of their mind- and Chelle's-- yeah it is a treasure chest!!

Kayden is a bad boy that never played by the rules. Sophia has always been the quintessential good girl, living a life filled with disappointment. Everything changes when their lives become intertwined through a chance encounter online.

Hundreds of miles separate them, but the connection that draws them together is too much to be denied. As the layers of their lives peel back, Kayden keeps the dangerous parts of his past hidden to protect the woman who is becoming more important to him than he should allow. See what I mean?? Don't you just wanna dive in?? See Kayden meets Sophia on Facebook, as they have some mutual friends online- and he happens to know her brother as well. So, she takes a chance on getting to know someone new- you know, going outside of her box and living a little. Soon, a budding friendship grows, and before they both know it- they are falling for each other. Talking every day, several times a day, and have decided that they both want to further explore the feeling between them. And those feelings, have turned to love- on both sides of the relationship, which is the last thing that either of them ever expected. So, with Sophia living in Florida and Kayden in New Orleans, they decide that they need to meet in person- and Sophia decides that she wants to travel to him first. And Kayden is more than thrilled, since he loves his city and cannot wait to share the beauty of New Orleans with Sophia. Upon their first meeting, the insta-sparks explode between them- which makes for some hotter than hot scenes for us!! And yeah, you are gonna wish that you could trade places with Sophia- several times throughout the book- because our boy Kayden, well he likes to play ;) Damn, could this guy get any better???
But as fab as Kayden is, there is drama too- in the form of one psycho bitch of an ex- Lisa. This chick is straight up "needs to be locked up in the asylum ASAP", which makes for quite the interesting turn of events in the book. Even though said events, I am fairly certain made my heart stop beating in some places, it did add for some awesome reading. I hated this bitch, like really could feel the hatred for her, and all of the things that she put Kayden and Sophia through. And they went through hell, lemme tell you- from Kayden's loss of employment, to the struggle with his alcohol addiction, to the fear that he was unfaithful to her, to the loss of his personal belongings- yeah, it was all there, bitch slapping them at every turn. It broke my heart to see how Kayden struggled, because I wanted so much for him, but he kept getting in his own way. There were times that I just wanted to punch him in the throat, while simultaneously yelling at him to get his shit together- for both himself and Sophia. But, while there are times when I was so angry with him- I never stopped cheering him on either, because he wanted so badly to be a better man. And I love that we got both his and Sophia's POV in order to see how much they both struggled with these facts. Great writing on Chelle's part!!
I know that this is going to be the first in a series, but I was so glad that Kayden and Sophia got their HEA here, and that I didn't have to wait to see it play out. It is fantastic the way their story turns out- even though you will stop breathing a few times while getting there, lol. I can most definitely tell that Chelle Bliss is going to be quite the successful author, and I cannot wait to see the next bit of awesomeness that she bestows upon us!!!!

The Wager-- Rachel Van Dyken

I love it when the sequel to a book is just as fantastic as the first- and this one definitely was!! The Wager was everything that you wanted and more from Rachel, and a great continuation to the Titus story. This is the story of Jake, whom we met in The Bet, and Char- whom we also briefly met in The Bet. Jake, is the younger brother to Travis Titus- who is marrying Kacey (Jake's former girlfriend and all around best friend), and Char is Kacey's other best friend. Nothing was ever mentioned in The Bet about them having any previous history together at all, but apparently they do- and it is not the best. Apparently, they had a night of steamy passion several months prior to when the story begins (picking up soon after the end of The Bet), and just as Jake did to Kacey, he left Char high and dry promptly afterwards. But in this case, he actually was quite affected by Char, which I really think just scared the hell out of him.
So, when he and Grandma run into Char at the airport on their way back to Seattle, he instantly knows that his life is about to become quite uncomfortable for a bit. Enter Grandma and all of her meddling, yet seriously freaking hilarious, ways of rearranging his life and working her matchmaking magic. Have I said yet how much I LOVE Grandma?? She is awesome!! She is most definitely the source of the humor and hilarity throughout both books. So, she begins doing what she knows best, which is bringing Jake and Char back together, being sure to make it so that they will be completely joined together- not taking any chances that all of her hard work might go to waste. I have to say, that woman is quite creative!! But of course, we have to remember that this book is titled The Wager though, which means that somewhere, somebody is bound to be doing their own form of matchmaking in addition to Grandma's. Enter Kacey and Travis, who take it upon themselves to try and fix Char up with an acquaintance of Travis's, while simultaneously betting Grandma that their coupling will be the ultimate winner. Apparently, this means war to the Titus family, because Grandma starts pulling out all the stops to get her way. And her way, I gotta say is the best way!! After all, her way gives us this kind of goodness.........

Dessert was served. Char chose a chocolate soufflé with whipped cream. The minute it was set in front of her, she saw Jake’s hungry gaze.

With a wicked smile she dipped her finger into the whipped cream and slowly licked it clean.

His mouth dropped open, just slightly.

She licked her lips and dipped her finger again.

Jake leaned forward, his eyes almost closing as his half-lidded gaze went from teasing to lustful.

Char wondered when was the last time the player had been played, or that he’d had to actually wait for something.

Carefully, she slipped out of her wedge heels and relaxed a little further down in her seat. Trying to act nonchalant, she took another bite of her dessert and watched Jake watch her. She knew the exact moment her foot came into contact with his leg. With a jerk, he grabbed the edge of the table and cursed.

“Everything all right, Jake?” Petunia asked, examining him through her glasses.

“Perfect,” he said in a strained voice. “A bit hot.” His hooded eyes blinked a few times before he reached for his water glass and took a long sip.

“It is quite humid out.” Petunia fanned herself. “But you look positively flushed. Are you sure you aren’t coming down with something?”

“I wish,” Jake said.

“Pardon?” Her brows furrowed.

“Pretty dish.” He pointed to the butter dish in the middle of the table.

Char bit her lip to keep from laughing; she took another slow bite of soufflé and licked her fork. Jake groaned across the table.

Her foot came into contact with his skin.

“Mother of—”

“Jake?” Petunia shook her head. “You have me worried.”

“Me too.” Char licked her lips and let her foot inch up his leg.

Jake braced both hands on the table, his eyes setting her on fire with how hard he was staring at her. “I’m sure.”

His eyes closed as she rubbed up and down his calf and then braced his one leg with both of hers, jerking him closer to the table.

“Shit.” He exhaled.

“I beg your pardon!” Petunia scolded. “Jake Titus, you stop your filthy language.”

“He’s such a dirty, dirty, boy,” Grandma agreed with a wink.

Jake groaned, his eyes pleading with Char to either stop or keep going and kill him right then and there.

“You know what happens to dirty boys,” Char said helpfully.

“What?” His voice was hoarse.

“They get spanked,” Petunia spat. “Hard!”

Jake swore a blue streak.

“Wescott!” Petunia demanded. “Please control your son! It seems he keeps having urges to use foul language at the dinner table! Well, in my day we’d send boys to their rooms if they did such a thing.”

“Fine.” Wescott rolled his eyes. “Go to your room, Jake, take your punishment like a man.”

“I, uh…” Jake sputtered. “Should probably stay right here.”

“You heard your father.” Petunia shook her head. “You need to be punished.”

“Please.” He whimpered and hung his head in his hands.

“Jake…” Char pulled her foot away and leaned forward. “You should probably listen to your father. Wouldn’t want you getting into any trouble… go to your room.”

“I can’t,” he said through clenched teeth.

Grandma pushed to her, feet knocking an entire pitcher of ice water into Jake’s lap. His eyes bulged out of his head as she leaned over so only he and Char could hear. “You’re welcome.”

“I want to die.” This from Jake.

“You clumsy boy, go change your pants,” Grandma ordered. “Char, why don’t you get us some more water from the kitchen?”

She didn’t have to be told twice.

Cursing, Jake threw down his napkin and chased after her.

Shoes off, she was able to run across the grass. Once she was in the house she stole a glance behind her. Jake was gaining on her. The look on his face was predatory.

With a squeal she ran up the stairs to the bedroom, just as his strong arms came around her, pushing her farther into the room.

“Naughty girl. I’ll make you pay for that.”

She turned in his arms and licked his chin like she had her soufflé. “You promise?”

“Strip.” He released her and walked over to the bed, slowly sinking down into it. “Now.”

“Demanding.” Char put her hands on her hips. “Aren’t we?”

“Yeah.” Jake leaned back on his elbows. “The way I see it, you owe me. Not only did I do a naughty dance for you, with chaps might I add, but you made me suffer through dessert, while my great aunt, the virgin one, you know her, told me I needed to be spanked.”

Char laughed.

“Not funny,” Jake groaned. “Most awkward moment of my life.”

“Before or after Grandma cooled you off?” Char asked.

“If you want me to be able to perform, ever, you won’t mention that again.” Jake swore.

Char fumbled with the straps of her dress. “I remember.”

“Remember?” Jake’s eyes were trained on her fingers as she toyed with the straps pulling them further down her body. “What do you remember?”

“Us.” Char let the dress fall to the ground and stepped out of it. “I remember our night together. I lied. I told Beth I didn’t. I told you it wasn’t good. I was just trying to make you feel bad.”

“Hmm.” Jake stood and slowly approached her. “I deserved it.”

“I know.”

Now, aren't you glad that 86-year old bitty stuck to her guns and helped us all out?? Again, love me some Grandma!!

This book definitely has its steam, not as much as some, but definitely more than others. I have noticed that all of Rachel's books that I have read so far, do tend to keep it on the lighter side of steamy, which is perfectly acceptable. I just want to make sure that everyone understands that this isn't anything too hot and heavy, and nothing too graphic. But that doesn't take away from her books-- not at all!! Some of my new faves are hers. And this one, is no different from that.

Jagged-- Kristen Ashley

What can I say that I haven't already said in the past, about Kristen Ashley?? I know that I have at least mentioned this one before- but she is a FREAKING GENIUS!!!! I love, love, love anything and everything to come out of that wonderful blonde head of hers!!! And this most definitely includes her newest piece- Jagged. This is the story of Graham (Ham) Reece, whom we met in an earlier work from the 'Burg Series- For You. In that book, Ham was a former lover of our gal February, and ultimately ended up being a survivor of a viscious attack from an axe murdering psycho, all because of his past with Feb. Once Ham learned that Feb had found love again with Colt, her high school sweetheart, he lamented that he didn't get his head out sooner and scoop up such a good woman- forcing him to do nothing but move on. So, he did so by going back and rekindling a flame with Zara Cinders, a woman he had met while bartending back in Gnaw Bone, Colorado- which we know is one of the places in our beloved Colorado Mountain Series. After his attack, Ham realizes what is really important in life- and what's important is Zara- and he knows that he is ready to settle down and be with just her. Too bad for Ham that Zara realizes this a bit sooner than he does, and thinking that Ham is never going to be the man to offer her the stability she wants- decides to seek it with another man. So, she decides to do the hardest thing she ever thought possible and send Ham on with his life, and move on to Greg- the man she ultimately marries and starts a life with, even though she knows that with Ham is where he heart really lies. Fast forward three years, and we find Zara recently divorced, having recently lost her beloved retail shop, and losing her home that she simply adores. So, just like fate to intervene- Ham comes back into her life, and he comes in like a wrecking ball- refusing to walk away from her when he sees how desperate and alone she truly is. Even though he really came back to Gnaw Bone to settle permanently, he decides that he is going to help Zara get back on her feet- even when she insists she doesn't need it. Luckily for us, Ham is every bit the alpha male that KA's men always are, and refuses to leave her, doing everything to bring her completely back into his life-- permanently.
What I loved so much is that just like all of KA's gals- Zara really thinks that she is going to get away unscathed! She really thinks that Ham isn't going to affect her, and that she isn't going to let him back in, that she is going to be able to just stay "friends"...... oh silly Zara. I could not get enough of the love that these two have for each other- it is awesome, and has truly withstood the test of time. With many of Kristen's books, the couples don't know each other any time at all before falling head over heels- but Ham and Zara have been back and forth for YEARS!! They kept going back to each other, time and time again. It kinda sucked that they wasted so much time not being together, but any of us that knew Ham's story, we knew that he was not a man to stay put for long- regardless of how much the woman there made him want to. And you can tell that leaving Zara each time was the hardest thing that he ever had to do- it made my heart break for him.... So I was overwhelmed with emotion when he finally laid claim to her again, for the final time, making sure that she understood that he returned to Gnaw Bone for her. She was his home, his heart, his everything- so freaking beautiful!!
Now, her family- that is another damn story..... Those people- they made me want to vomit. The way her father treated her- the things he did, pure evil. To know that he kept something so precious from Zara for so long, I wanted to rip his nuts off and shove them down his throat! So, when he finally got what he deserved, in the form of some good ole Ham justice- I was beyond thrilled!! I really wanted bad things for her mother too, but I almost felt like she wasn't even worth the saliva to spit on. Regardless that she didn't actually commit the heinous acts, she allowed them to happen- which is just as bad. So, I was glad to see her end the story outside of Zara's life too.
I love that, like all other KA stories, Ham and Zara got their HEA. It was well deserved and was beautifully written. I can only hope to see more of them in Deck's book whenever we get it too!!! Not that it should be any kind of surprise when I review a Kristen Ashley book, but.........

UnAttainable-- Madeline Sheehan

I swear, if I could climb up in that big ole brain of Madeline's and live out my days- I absolutely would! Why, you ask?? Just so that I could always be near the thoughts of the Hell's Horsemen, that's why damn it!! Say what you will about those boys, about how rough around the edges they are and all that shit, but damn- you just cannot beat 'em. They are hot, just so freaking hot. Each and every one- even Dirty, which based on past books- I didn't think would happen. But now that I know his story, he is one of the best of the bunch, for sure.
This is the story of not only Tegan and Cage, but also of Ellie and Dirty- so it's like you get two books in one! Now, we all have been waiting on Tegan and Cage's story for a long time, every since we realized that she was head over heels for that boy. So, this was probably the book in the series that I wanted the most- and getting Dirty and Ellie was just a nice little addition for me. Cage, self described man whore- has been the love of Tegan's life since she met him at the ripe old age of eight, and he nicknamed her Teacup- all the while sacrificing his macho image of eleven years, and sitting down to a tea party with her. She was hooked from that point on- and over the next few years, built up a close and tight bond with Cage that they both treasured. Then, one night when she was sixteen, Tegan took the ultimate chance, and offered up herself and her virginity to Cage- hoping that it would finally make him realize that he loved her too. Well, no such luck for Teacup- he was completely wasted and just used it as an opportunity for sex- leaving her bereft and alone the next morning after she confesses her feelings to him. At that moment, things change. Tegan decides she is done, not just done, but really DONE- with it all. She decides to leave the only life that she ever knew behind as soon as she is of age and able to get out- and turns her back on her "family" and everyone in the MC- especially Cage. He is almost dead to her, regardless of how much her heart breaks to even think of him. So, she takes off for college in Cali- and builds a new life, one far away from her past life and all of the memories that it holds. So, when her mother is shot in the head over club antics, she comes back with a vengeance. She brings with her all of the hurt and anger that she has bottled up and unleashes it on anyone associated with the Horsemen. Which, yeah, totally makes her look like a bitch- but come on, this chick has been through the wringer already. After her mom's recovery, she returns to Cali- and keeps on living her new life, all the while getting tied up with ZZ (yeah, remember him??)......... which makes for some understandable tension with herself and the MC. When she finally comes back again, I was so glad to see that she and Cage finally had it out, and that he finally laid claim to her- meaning he got his head out of his ass and realized that she was something important to him. So, when he declared to Cox that she was his-- yeah, big ole smile on this chick's face-- FINALLY!!! But of course, we know that Horsemen don't have peaches and cream stories, so that was by far the end- they had to go through a whole lot more shit to get to the end. So, when all of the stuff that happened, actually happened- I was completely blown away- I didn't even see any of that shit coming!! I was in total shock over what ZZ did (no, I am not telling)-- I mean I get the boy had issues with the West clan, but that shit was insane!! Then, to have to see Cage struggle with his internal demons too, it sucked- and it really made me want to grab Deuce by the balls, and rip them right the fuck off for the stupid shit that he pulled in keeping Tegan and Cage apart. I mean, really???? So, when he redeemed himself- it reminded me of why we all love Deuce to begin with.
Now, as for Dirty and Ellie- this one touched me even more than Cage and Teacup- mainly because of Dirty's story. My heart ripped to shreds for that boy, I mean big ole chunks just splintered away and died for him. Who does that to a little boy?? And then for it to stay with him for so long, and make him do the things he has done in his life- simply gut wrenching. So, for him to find Ellie, and to see how he wants to be a better man- just for her- yeah, that was awe inspiring. Never thought I could say that about an MC- but not everyone is Dirty. That boy is in a class by himself. The way that he protects Ellie, and the way that he loves her (even though he doesn't realize that's what it is), just turns your insides to mush. I mean, how could you not fall in love with him?? Not to mention, the fact that he changes his hygienic ways- well that just rocks!! I mean, I completely get why he lived the way he did for so long, trying to make his actual appearance disappear, but damn- to know what he looked like when he cleaned himself up..... total yum!! Makes you want to jump him even more! Lucky gal, that Ellie.
It really isn't right to say that all fours of these folks got their HEA here, even though they technically did- HEA just doesn't seem right when talking about the Hell's Horsemen. Their stories are never written with sunshine and roses, but grit and angst- so that when they get to the other side, it is that much sweeter. So, I guess I can say it like this- Cage and Tegan, as well as Dirty and Ellie, all got the same kinda ending that Deuce and Eva and Ripper and Danny got. So, if you wanna call it an HEA, then by all means do- but I just can't classify it the same as those other romance endings, because Madeline's MC is different. Their stories, are different. Probably why I love them so damn much- they are unlike any other- they are simply so fucking fabulous that they piss glitter, you know-- if bikers did that kinda shit........  ;)

Cage-- Harper Sloan

So yeah, this happened!! That's right lovelies.... The blog tour has begun for the amazing Harper Sloan's newest book, Cage!!!! And geez oh my, don't we all love us some Greg Cage.... sigh........ Yeah, that's about all you can do when you think of Cage, well that or just downright drool. Those of us who read the first book in the Corp Security series, Axel, met Cage when he stepped into Izzy's life as her best guy, big brother, and all around protector- and we all fell in love with him and how incredibly wonderful he is. The way that he loved Izzy, like she was the little sister that he lost years prior, it was simply beautiful, and in Axel- I felt as though we didn't get nearly enough of his story. So, I was flat out thrilled that he was up next in the series, and that we finally got to the heart of all that is Greg Cage.

Now, see why I fell in love with Cage like I did?? When he meets Melissa, doing his "uncle" duties by taking Izzy's litte Nate to the doctor for a sick visit, he instantly feels that this feisty nurse is something that he wants in his life. Not just her body, but all of her- he finally feels that he has met the one woman that can make him complete, fill in the gap that he has had for so long. Now, he just has to convince her of that same revelation. And she doesn't make it easy for him, which only adds to the awesome chemistry that these two have rather instantly. Speaking of chemistry-- these two are flat out explosive, I mean melt the LCD of your Kindle hot- don't say I didn't warn ya..... Oh, and did I mention that ole Greg is, um..... adorned, in the best of ways??? Yeah, so want my hubs to do that now!!
Now as much as I love all the hot and steaminess of Meli and Cage- I have to also mention that I love the relationship that Meli has with her family, especially her precious nephew. It was wonderful to see that Meli and Greg were connected long before they ever knew it, even if it was in the worst way imaginable. And even more beautiful than Melissa's bond with her nephew-- is Cage's bond with him. It will melt you heart and seep into your soul. To see that man with him, and to see the wonderful things he does for that child, it makes him even more yummy. And the first time he called him Daddy- god, talk about the big happy tears!! Which is why, when the most terrible of events happens to them, I thought my guts were being ripped apart! How could that happen?? Meli had been through so damn much, as had Greg, then to have to endure that too- heartbreaking.
But don't worry babies, just as Harper promised us, there is an HEA- and it is AMAZING!! Like, take your breath away amazing.... Why, you ask?? Because no two people deserve this ending more than Cage and Meli- that's the damn truth!! You are going to love this book, I just know that for a fact. If you loved Axel, and let's be honest- who the hell didn't love it- then you are gonna fall even deeper for Cage. And just like myself, are going to long for the days to quickly pass until you can get the next swoonworthy agent from Corps Security in your hands ;)

That's right lovelies, I can finally spread the love about the fabulous Chelle Bliss, and her novel- Untangle Me!! I have been waiting on this blog tour, well actually, my stop on the tour- for so very long! You see, I have had the extreme pleasure of getting to chat with Chelle a lot of the last few months via Facebook, and have been keeping up with the progress of the book- so it was very much a work that was close to my heart. I love when I get to chat with authors and get a glimpse into the genius of their mind- and Chelle's-- yeah it is a treasure chest!!

Kayden is a bad boy that never played by the rules. Sophia has always been the quintessential good girl, living a life filled with disappointment. Everything changes when their lives become intertwined through a chance encounter online.

Hundreds of miles separate them, but the connection that draws them together is too much to be denied. As the layers of their lives peel back, Kayden keeps the dangerous parts of his past hidden to protect the woman who is becoming more important to him than he should allow. What starts as a pursuit of carnal pleasure turns into a complicated love story. His past is a tangled web filled with addiction, an obsessed ex-girlfriend, and problems with the law.

One mistake he thought he had left behind may end up ruining it all.

See what I mean?? Don't you just wanna dive in?? See Kayden meets Sophia on Facebook, as they have some mutual friends online- and he happens to know her brother as well. So, she takes a chance on getting to know someone new- you know, going outside of her box and living a little. Soon, a budding friendship grows, and before they both know it- they are falling for each other. Talking every day, several times a day, and have decided that they both want to further explore the feeling between them. And those feelings, have turned to love- on both sides of the relationship, which is the last thing that either of them ever expected. So, with Sophia living in Florida and Kayden in New Orleans, they decide that they need to meet in person- and Sophia decides that she wants to travel to him first. And Kayden is more than thrilled, since he loves his city and cannot wait to share the beauty of New Orleans with Sophia. Upon their first meeting, the insta-sparks explode between them- which makes for some hotter than hot scenes for us!! And yeah, you are gonna wish that you could trade places with Sophia- several times throughout the book- because our boy Kayden, well he likes to play ;) Damn, could this guy get any better???
But as fab as Kayden is, there is drama too- in the form of one psycho bitch of an ex- Lisa. This chick is straight up "needs to be locked up in the asylum ASAP", which makes for quite the interesting turn of events in the book. Even though said events, I am fairly certain made my heart stop beating in some places, it did add for some awesome reading. I hated this bitch, like really could feel the hatred for her, and all of the things that she put Kayden and Sophia through. And they went through hell, lemme tell you- from Kayden's loss of employment, to the struggle with his alcohol addiction, to the fear that he was unfaithful to her, to the loss of his personal belongings- yeah, it was all there, bitch slapping them at every turn. It broke my heart to see how Kayden struggled, because I wanted so much for him, but he kept getting in his own way. There were times that I just wanted to punch him in the throat, while simultaneously yelling at him to get his shit together- for both himself and Sophia. But, while there are times when I was so angry with him- I never stopped cheering him on either, because he wanted so badly to be a better man. And I love that we got both his and Sophia's POV in order to see how much they both struggled with these facts. Great writing on Chelle's part!!
I know that this is going to be the first in a series, but I was so glad that Kayden and Sophia got their HEA here, and that I didn't have to wait to see it play out. It is fantastic the way their story turns out- even though you will stop breathing a few times while getting there, lol. I can most definitely tell that Chelle Bliss is going to be quite the successful author, and I cannot wait to see the next bit of awesomeness that she bestows upon us!!!!
