Beck-- Harper Sloan

Have I told you lately that I love you?? 

Yep, those are the words I find myself saying to Harper after reading Beck, book 3 in the Corps Security series!!! I freaking loved this book!!!! John Beckett completely stole my heart- even more than Greg Cage did before him, and Axel Reid before that. Ah, those boys!!! I cannot say enough about them and how they love their women- it is just a wholly consuming feeling that they should these girls. Makes me wanna jump into those pages!! 

Now, I gotta say- Maddox has been my man since day one- and I don't think that is going to change at all, but Beck damn sure makes a close second for sure!!!! To see all of the pain, both internal an external that Dee went through, and to know that Beck was with her every step of the way---- total swoon worthy!!! He stuck by her through it all, even when she tried her best to push him to the other end of her world. He never left- didn't budge at all, not an inch. Pure and unadulterated love. 

Now, I also have to say, this one brought the tears by the bucket loads. I can't say why- just be prepared for your earth to tilt and rock around on its axis. You are gonna scream and cry, curse Harper for everything she is worth, and maybe even question your entire existence (yeah, it's that big)-- but it's worth it-- I promise you!! It truly brings out the beauty of the full story and how these guys are not just friends, but family- true brothers. And everything that happens is going to make you love Sway SO MUCH MORE!!! Not that we don't all already adore him, just sayin'.....  

So, now I am not so patiently (a virtue I will never possess) waiting for the rest of the story- and yes I said story. I know there is more than one left to be told- but to me, the real story is the brotherhood of these men. The real reason for all of this is to show the love between all of these people- the family that they have created within one another. And Harper has done a fanfreakingtastic job of telling this story!! I find myself going above and beyond to spread te word about these books because that's how great they are. Absolutely phenomenal- and it doesn't hurt that the guys are sex gods either ;)

Laura Kaye-- Hard As It Gets

So, wouldn't ya know it- I have found yet another author that I love!! I honestly don't think that I had previously heard of Laura Kaye or any of her work before getting the invite for HAIG's blog tour, but now that I have- I am so thrilled about it!! This book has it all folks- hot alpha, sassy lead gal, tattoos, hot sex, and a tiny bit of danger thrown in for good measure.... Oh and did I mention, that it's the first of a series???? Yep- can you believe that- we are gonna get even more of the Hard Ink's yummy goodness in the near future!!! I for one cannot wait!!
This book is Nick and Becca's story- basically what starts the entire backdrop for the series. Nick, a former military man, meets Becca in his tattoo shop that he co-owns with his brother, Jeremy. Only Becca isn't there for a tattoo- she is there in hopes of getting Nick to help her locate her own brother, Charlie- who has gone inexplicably missing. This, after receiving a chilling and weird message from him, advising her to seek out Nick and the rest of their father's (Nick and the guys former commander) team, as they will be the only ones who can help her. So, Becca goes in expecting Nick to jump into action to help her family since her worked so closely with her father for so many years. But, little does she know, Nick hates him with every fiber of his being- blaming him for ruining his entire life and costing him the career that he so dearly loved. Needless to say, Nick coldly turns Becca away once he finds out who she is, and more importantly- who her father was. Heartbroken, but angry as hell and even more determined than ever, Becca decides that she will find Charlie herself, without anyone's help. Nick sniffed and murmured, and his breathing slowly changed from the slow, shallow draws of sleep to the deeper pattern of wakefulness. “What are you thinking so hard about?” he said, his voice a seductive, raw gravel.

“Nothing,” Becca whispered.

She smiled. Not even awake and he was already a smart-ass. “You’re laying on me.”

He lifted his head, eyes still soft with sleep and oh so bright. “Er, oh, God, Bec—”

“Don’t move, please? I wasn’t complaining.”

“Then what—”

“It’s just…” The way he was looking at her, half concerned, half like he might make her every dream come true, had her spilling a fast stream of honesty that was about five point two light-years beyond oversharing. “I’m horny. And you’re hot as hell. And we’re clearly trying to be good. Although, I’m not sure why, exactly. And, anyway, I don’t want you to move. Because I like the feel of you. And I—”

His mouth swallowed the rest of the nonsense spilling from her lips. The kiss was aggressive and needful, his tongue twining with hers, his hands in her hair, his chest atop her breasts. For a long moment, she was so stunned by the kiss that all she could do was give in to the sensual assault. His leg pressed between her legs, hard against her clit, the bunching and shifting of his muscles shoving her step by step closer to the edge of restraint. A stream of moans and whimpers worked their way up her throat until finally she couldn’t stop her hips from dancing against his thigh.

“Nick,” she rasped around the edge of a kiss. “Oh, God.”

Nick’s tongue was in her mouth again, exploring every wet corner and stealing her breath. He pulled back, panting. “What? What do you want, sunshine?”

The nickname tugged her heart into the action, too. Did he realize he said it? “I like when you call me that.”

He bit her bottom lip and tugged, his gaze boring into hers, one eyebrow arched. “What do you want?”

 

Yes ladies, Nick is one hot puppy!! And Becca is one lucky girl!!

And when we finally get to meet the rest of Nick's team- god- talk about swooning all over again! These are one hot bunch of alphas that we have here!! I feel like they are all going to get their stories told with their own books, so I cannot wait to read them as well! Especially Beckett Murda- something about him just tells me that his is going to knock my pants off!!
I love how the guys, once they got past their anger over what Becca's father had done to them, just accepted her into the fold as one of their own. They knew that she wasn't her father, and more importantly, that she had no clue what kind of man he really was. She was instantly the little sister that they all stepped up to protect and honor. Add to them Jeremy, Nick's little brother, and Becca had a whole new family that she wasn't expecting- since she had lost every member of her own, with the exception of Charlie. The love that these guys all had for one another was amazing- not just a brotherhood, but truly a family!! And Laura Kaye brought all of that out beautifully.
The next book in the series, Hard As You Can, which will be Shane and Crystal's story, is due out in March 2014- and I am already chomping at the bit to read it- so yeah, that tells you how good this series is and is going to be!! You have to go pick up this book now babies, and get started on this amazing author's newest series-- you won't be sorry!!

Remy-- Katy Evans

Now, here's what we have all been waiting for-- a look into that sexy lion's mind!! We finally have it ladies- that's right, Remy is all about the man himself. We finally get to see it all from the beginning- from Remy's POV..... and what a POV it is!! 

We go toe-to-toe. I feint and Hammer swings, opening his side. So I jab his ribs, feel the satisfying punch race up my arm, and we bounce apart. Hammer is stupid in the head. He falls for all my feints and never covers right. I ram him hard enough to make him bounce on the ropes and drop to his knees. He shakes his head and hops to his feet after a moment. I love this. My heart pumps slowly. My every muscle knows where to move, what to do, where to send my power—right from my center, up my chest, shoulder, down the length of my arms, to the tips of my fucking knuckles that hit with the force of a charging bull.

I take him down, and then I do the same with the next foe. And the next.

A powerful energy takes over me as I fight, and I fight knowing that Brooke Dumas watches me. If there’s anything in my head other than winning, it’s that I want her to think inside that lovely round head of hers that she has never, ever, seen a man like me.

I absolutely loved how much Remy loves Brooke- basically from the second that he sees her- he knows that she is his. There is no doubt in his mind that this woman is what his life has been leading up to. All of the pain and suffering that he has endured throughout his life- it was all worth it so long as Brooke was the reward. And man, how Remy suffers...... I cannot imagine having to deal with that kind of a mental illness. Never knowing when it's going to strike, only knowing that you have to deal with it the best that you can when it does. That's what really makes him a fighter, not what he does in the ring, but what he does in his life. Because, throughout the entire book, it seems that Remy is always fighting- whether it be an actual flesh and bone opponent, his pathetic excuse for parents, Brooke and her random craziness, or just his own mind- the boy is ALWAYS fighting for something. And I have to say that I love that about him- the fact that he NEVER gives up. Even when Brooke left, and we all thought that would be the end of him, he didn't give up- he fought to get himself back on track, to get Nora back on track, and most importantly- to get himself back into Brooke's heart (where he actually never left).
And how powerful it was to see the time when Brooke left through Remy's eyes........ What heartache and despair- geez, I actually wanted to throttle Brooke at that moment!!! I had to remind myself that I knew they finally got their HEA, and that this was only a retelling of their story, but for a second there- I forgot all about that, and my heart broke just thinking that it could be their end. That's how great this story is- it made me totally forget what I already knew about them, because I fell head over heels all over again- just like reading it all for the first time. That's what makes Katy Evans a kick ass author folks, the fact that she can pull that kinda literary ninja magic on ya!!!!
Finally- Racer and their wedding, and seeing Remy's side. Holy shit, I don't think any more love could come from one person that it comes from Remy for Racer and Brooke. The fact that he truly adores Brooke that much more for giving him his son- total swoon!! And their wedding-- melt my heart!!! We all know that they did the quickie thing in Mine, but Remy wanted her to have the real thing too, so they decided to have a church wedding as well. We get to see it in Remy. I don't want to give any details away except to say that Remy made the absolute most perfect groom, down to the last detail- and I love him even more for it!! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!!!!!
This is one book that any avid read should NOT pass up-- as it is amazing, and a true gem to experience. Another great facet to Remy and Brooke's story, and one that you do not want to miss out on- even if you think you know it already- you don't. You have to see Remy's side too- you may even like it more than Brooke's, because I am pretty sure that I just might........  ;)

Tough Luck-- C.M. Stunich

Why oh why do I always forget how much C.M. loves a good cliffhanger???? You really think that after reading so many of her fab books that I would remember such important details!! But alas, yet again-- I suffered the shock and awe of such an amazing story.....................
So, this is Ronnie's story- you all remember Ronnie, right?? Yeah, thought so. Because really, who could forget such a sad and tormented soul?

“You look like you're about to pass out.  Take a breather, will ya?” I tell him, wishing he'd give me some sign of life in those dead eyes.  They're dark and swimming with negativity.  I can tell he's not living in the here and now.  He's somewhere else altogether.  My job is supposed to be to keep him there, force him down into the depths of pain and let him impale himself on his own tragedy.  Instead, I get the urge to pull him back.

        Before I can stop myself, I'm spinning around in front of him and bumping the toes of my shoes against his, clutching his shirt in two grasping hands and pressing our mouths together.  I'm not shy with my tongue, forcing it between his lips and tasting all of that melancholy and anguish.  At first it's like kissing a fireplace hearth, all old ash and extinguished flames, but just as I'm about to pull away, I see a spark.  It's small at first, burning deep within him, taking over his lips and scorching me with brilliant heat.

        Ronnie's hands come up and find my ass.  He doesn't start off with small talk either.  He goes straight for the gold, grabbing and caressing my flesh with greedy hands.  Careful, Lola, or you might get burned.  I push up against him, struggling to stay on my tiptoes so our faces can stay somewhat even.  I kind of want to climb his ass like Godzilla on top of the Empire State Building, just get all up in there and find my perch.  Ronnie responds to my scrambling by lifting me up by the cheeks and slamming my back into the metal pole of a street sign.

        “Oi, watch yourself, fuck face,” I growl out, but the small ache in my spine is nothing compared to the raging burn that's coming up from below.  What the hell are you playing at, bitch?  This is not what you're supposed to be doing.  I hear my logical self screaming at me from the back of my mind, but I don't pay it any never mind.  What I am supposed to do anyway?  A forest fire's just caught in a dry bush.  I could put it out, but it'd take a lot of effort.  It's easier just to let it burn.

So, yeah- Ronnie and Lola- these two have it. That awesome thing that instantly connects them the same way it did with Naomi and Turner. Only we weren't expecting it for Ronnie, given that he is still grieving his lost love- Asuka, still ten years after her death. I love that we got to finally get the background that surrounds Ronnie, finally hear what actually happened to Asuka, and finally got to see just how much of a man whore Ronnie really was. And all this time I thought that Turner was bad?? Lol........
Now, I know that some peeps were whining a bit because this book didn't focus on Naomi and Turner, but never fear- we do get a healthy dose of them- they just aren't the primary subjects of this book. Which I for one, think is RIGHTEOUS!!! Given the tidbits that we got about Ronnie in Real Ugly and Get Bent- I was dying to get some more of him, and adding Lola Saints to the mix- freaking awesome. She really is the Australian version of Naomi- so yeah, these boys are gonna have their hands full. While I was sick with worry about Lola's original part in the whole Indecency/ Amatory Riot debacle, I was so glad to see her redeem herself in the end and take her place by Ronnie's side where she belongs. Maybe Amatory Riot needs a new member???? Wishful thinking on my part I know, but I cannot imagine that Ice and Glass is going to last when all of the cards fall.........
Speaking of those falling cards- I am now DYING to get my hands on Bad Day (the next in the series), so I am sending C.M. silent psychic signals to please release it soon!! Even though it is to go back to Naomi and Turner- it is the continuation of the suspense story that has plagued all of these guys- and given the ending of Tough Luck---- I need it like yesterday!! I don't wanna give away of the deets on the ending of this book- just to say that it is explosive and will instantly make you scream and salivate for Bad Day......... Trust me on that.

Mine is the continuation of the Riptide story, and picks up quite soon after the end of Real. Remy has decided to rejoin the Underground Fighting circuit and has declared that this will be his year- he is going to take that title, no matter what. So, in order to do that- this boy is training super hard- and we all thought that he was a machine before?? The way he trained in Real is nothing like the way he does in Mine, and once again- Brooke is there every step of the way. 

Without giving away a HUGE part of the story, I had to squeal in delight when I saw that Remy managed to change Brooke's life in a way that she didn't think he could. And even though it was a big step in their relationship and totally changed their immediate future plans, I was thrilled that Remy not only fell quickly into the role- but was thrilled about it. I was so afraid that his fear of his "condition" would make him push her away and make me hate him. But of course, being the awesome Lion that he is-- he totally blew me out of the water!! And I fell even harder for him- if that's even possible........

I was also glad that we got to see some more of the dynamics of the Pete/Nora, Nora/Scorpion, and Riley/Mel relationships play out. But I gotta say, even more now- I wanted Scorpion's blood!! That asshole made me livid in so many ways, and then to have Nora do some of the crap she did- I thought I was going to explode!!! So, I had to breathe a big ole sigh of relief when she seemed to have redeemed herself later on. Speaking of those that I wanted to cut- Remy's parents!! OMG!! Whose shoe did someone scrap these pieces of shit from??? I am pretty sure that my blood boiled when I read the things that they said about their child and the future that he was creating. I saw red!! Then to have it throw Remy to black, but not only black- but the darkest and deepest black abyss ever- yeah I was down for murder!! 

It felt like my heart splintered a little bit to see how bad Remy got, and to see that even Brooke couldn't reach him. To know that there are those that have to live with that daily- I mean damn, it kills. And this is one of those reasons that I love Katy Evans- she envokes this amazing feelings and emotions in her work- you cannot help but get deeply attached to the story. And after all, isn't that what we all look for in our books?? 

Even though we technically got to see Remy and Brooke's HEA in the end of Mine, I cannot wait to dive into Remy later and get out my review for it in a couple of weeks!! Because we all wanna know what goes on in that beautiful Lion's mind after all...........

Okay lovelies, this is my second blog tour to spread the love about the fabulous Chelle Bliss, and her novel- Untangle Me!! Gotta show you how much I love an author's work to do two blog tours for her!!!! You see, I have had the extreme pleasure of getting to chat with Chelle a lot of the last few months via Facebook, and have been keeping up with the progress of the book- so it was very much a work that was close to my heart. I love when I get to chat with authors and get a glimpse into the genius of their mind- and Chelle's-- yeah it is a treasure chest!!

Kayden is a bad boy that never played by the rules. Sophia has always been the quintessential good girl, living a life filled with disappointment. Everything changes when their lives become intertwined through a chance encounter online.

Hundreds of miles separate them, but the connection that draws them together is too much to be denied. As the layers of their lives peel back, Kayden keeps the dangerous parts of his past hidden to protect the woman who is becoming more important to him than he should allow. What starts as a pursuit of carnal pleasure turns into a complicated love story. His past is a tangled web filled with addiction, an obsessed ex-girlfriend, and problems with the law.

One mistake he thought he had left behind may end up ruining it all.

See what I mean?? Don't you just wanna dive in?? See Kayden meets Sophia on Facebook, as they have some mutual friends online- and he happens to know her brother as well. So, she takes a chance on getting to know someone new- you know, going outside of her box and living a little. Soon, a budding friendship grows, and before they both know it- they are falling for each other. Talking every day, several times a day, and have decided that they both want to further explore the feeling between them. And those feelings, have turned to love- on both sides of the relationship, which is the last thing that either of them ever expected. So, with Sophia living in Florida and Kayden in New Orleans, they decide that they need to meet in person- and Sophia decides that she wants to travel to him first. And Kayden is more than thrilled, since he loves his city and cannot wait to share the beauty of New Orleans with Sophia. Upon their first meeting, the insta-sparks explode between them- which makes for some hotter than hot scenes for us!! And yeah, you are gonna wish that you could trade places with Sophia- several times throughout the book- because our boy Kayden, well he likes to play ;) Damn, could this guy get any better???
But as fab as Kayden is, there is drama too- in the form of one psycho bitch of an ex- Lisa. This chick is straight up "needs to be locked up in the asylum ASAP", which makes for quite the interesting turn of events in the book. Even though said events, I am fairly certain made my heart stop beating in some places, it did add for some awesome reading. I hated this bitch, like really could feel the hatred for her, and all of the things that she put Kayden and Sophia through. And they went through hell, lemme tell you- from Kayden's loss of employment, to the struggle with his alcohol addiction, to the fear that he was unfaithful to her, to the loss of his personal belongings- yeah, it was all there, bitch slapping them at every turn. It broke my heart to see how Kayden struggled, because I wanted so much for him, but he kept getting in his own way. There were times that I just wanted to punch him in the throat, while simultaneously yelling at him to get his shit together- for both himself and Sophia. But, while there are times when I was so angry with him- I never stopped cheering him on either, because he wanted so badly to be a better man. And I love that we got both his and Sophia's POV in order to see how much they both struggled with these facts. Great writing on Chelle's part!!
I know that this is going to be the first in a series, but I was so glad that Kayden and Sophia got their HEA here, and that I didn't have to wait to see it play out. It is fantastic the way their story turns out- even though you will stop breathing a few times while getting there, lol. I can most definitely tell that Chelle Bliss is going to be quite the successful author, and I cannot wait to see the next bit of awesomeness that she bestows upon us!!!!
