Torn, Book 1 of the Torn Series-- K.A. Robinson

Wow. Yep that is what I am saying about this book. It was so good, I could not put it down, hence me finishing it in just a few hours. It is just really that good. I loved, loved, loved this novel so much!!! It centers on a young college student, Chloe, and her struggle with following her heart to find love. The only problem being that she loves not one, but two guys. First, we have Drake, the tattooed bad ass rocker that she cannot seem to stay away from, nor can she keep from falling head over heels for him. Instant chemistry!! Then, there is Logan, her best friend since middle school- the boy who has secretly loved her all these years. I don't want to give away details, as I do not like spoilers, so I will only say a few vague things about the book. Even though I loved Chloe, I really just wanted to shake the shit out of her and tell her to get her head out of her ass about these two guys. Seriously, I cannot believe someone would be so wishy-washy about something like the hearts of two people who have done nothing but want her. That being said- I really did feel for her, as I felt my heart break sometimes in regards to her damaged and troubled past- but alas, that is all I am going to say about it........
I am about half way done with Book 2 of the series, Twisted- so I should finish it up here in a bit and cannot wait to report on it. So far, it is AWESOME, so if the second half is as good as the first- it is going to be great!! I am doing something major here and comparing this series to my all time favorite- Walking Disaster and Beautiful Disaster...... meaning that they are right up there with the greats. Highly, and I do mean extremely highly, recommended------ 5 glorious stars all the way!!!!!!!!!

Beyond Eden-- Kele Moon

I feel as though I should preface this book with the following warning-- OMG, most definitely not for the faint of heart. Beyond Eden is another novel which highly centers on the BDSM lifestyle, and I do mean HIGHLY centers. However, unlike some other BDSM novels, this one also delves into the world of personal fetishes, mainly an overpowering pain fetish, as well as an interesting voyeurism fetish. I do say, this novel is no Fifty Shades..... It goes so far beyond anything Christian did to Ana that it isn't even funny. That being said, there is a deep love story being told, even though it is between 3 people instead of 2. What??? Did I say 3 people??? That's right folks- this is not your conventional love- here we have a M/M/F relationship in which all parties are equally involved with each other. Everything, and I do mean everything, is out and open between them. However, it works- both for the 3 and for the story.
This novel is most definitely not going to be for everyone, and I strongly urge anyone reading it to be completely open minded to EVERYTHING. I personally have read better novels, therefore I am only going with 3 stars, but I don't regret reading it. It was quite the experience.......  ;)

Mutual Release-- Liz Crowe

So, Liz Crowe was an author that was previously undiscovered by my eyes until I came across Mutual Release on Netgalley. I am so glad that I did-- awesome book I have to say. For any Fifty Shades fans, this book is right up your alley. It is a novel heavily involved in BDSM play, much like Fifty is. Our main man, Evan, is alas- quite the tortured soul, much like Christian as well. However, whereas Christian finds Ana right away and sticks it out with her- in Mutual Release, we begin with Evan at the ripe old age of 18 and follow him through several "relationships", both vanilla and otherwise. We see him slowly slip further into his own doubt and self hatred thorughout the book. Our lucky lady, Julie, is however nothing like Ana. She is feisty and full of spunk, thoroughly lacking Ana's quirky nervousness and naivety. That being said- she is a total wildcat and is the perfect match for Evan's "Dom" personality. She is only, in my opinion, a "Sub" in the sexual sense- definitely not in her daily endeavors. Along with Evan and Julie, we have several other wonderful characters- without whom, the book would not have had the natural flow that it did. I must say, I had high expectations going into this novel, being so enamored with Fifty and the Bared to You series (actually named The Crossfire Series), and am happy to say that I was not in any way disappointed. I would give this novel a firm 4 stars, making it quite the "pleasurable" read.......  ;)

Fire Inside-- Kristen Ashley

Well, it only seems fitting that my first official review be of the latest genius born of the greatest author ever-- Mrs. Kristen Ashley. So, thanks to the wonderful Netgalley, I was able to obtain an ARC of KA's latest, Fire Inside. This is the second novel in her newest series, The Chaos Series, which is a spinoff from a previous novel, Motorcycle Man.

I, of course, was Johnny on the Spot the day that Own the Wind was released and dug right in, loving every second. That being said- Fire Inside was even better!!! Hop is just all around a yummolicious biker alpha that wastes no time whatsoever in getting what he wants. I fell in love with him from the get go. And Lanie, my god- that girl has such a beautiful story to tell, you just cannot help but shout into your Kindle to encourage the HEA that is bound to happen for these two. I hate to give spoilers away, so I won't, especially since the book has yet to be released, but this is by far- the best one yet.

Hop........ There are just no words for how beautiful that man feels and loves and lives his life. For his kids, his brothers and most of all for the love of his woman. It is just too beautiful for words. Lanie....... Well as much as I love her, there were times I just wanted to shake her hard and say "Lady, can you not see how wonderful this man is??" Luckily for we avid HEA lovers, KA did not disappoint in pulling Lanie's thumb out and going after her happiness.

Those who loved Motorcycle Man will love the fact that all of your faves are continued in this novel, and that we get to see further into the lives of the characters that we know and love. Even though this novel is part of a series, there is no cliffhanger at the end to drive us crazy and make us wonder if everyone gets their own slice of heaven.

This novel most definitely receives 5 stars from me- a truly captivating story for any avid reader!!!

Welcoming myself to Blog World

The idea of having a blog for the sole purpose of reviewing all of the MANY books that I have read over the years, has been something that I have wanted to do for quite some time. However, as usually in the life of a wife and mother, who still works her full time job, this idea has been sacrificed several times to make way for other life issues. So, I am now happy and proud to say, that I have taken the reins and started one of my mini- dreams. I have always been one to scope out reviews on books from other readers before I purchase them. Sometimes, they aid in my decision to buy the book- sometimes they do not. I, after all, still do think with my own brain, and in the end- I am going to do whatever the hell I want to do anyway. Oh, did I forget to mention........ I am a completely uniquely open minded, and perhaps even brash individual. I have a nice little quote on my social media page that basically describes everything you need to know about me- "Some may say cold hearted, I think of it as brutally honest." This, in my personal view, is the absolutely most important quality of any book reviewer- true brutal honesty. No need to sugar coat your thoughts- just be out and proud with it, because that is what any good author truly appreciates. They don't want you to blow smoke up their ass- just be honest in your review. That said, I hope that by having this blog available, I am able to help other readers and even authors, just by giving them my own true words. So, to all you peeps, help me out by furthuring your own look of books by doing the same.

Love to all,
The Book Junkie
